The Samnite Shield is a technology-enabled ballistic shield that doubles and a personnel Hasty Rescue Device (HRD). The Samnite Shield HUD provides a viewpoint for users to avoid having to expose themselves to hostile threats. The ballistic plate is currently swap-able between a Level (IIIA+) or AR/AK protection. Command elements are provided locational information and streaming data/video from the tactical edge. The Samnite APP is integrated with the TAK Suite and MAGTF Common Handheld Programs of Record. The system is interoperable with standard tactical radios like TrellisWare, Silvus, DTC, MPU 4/5. The shield can be quickly deployed and will provide protection and real-time situational awareness.
